Hizb Allah, UNHCR and the Dinosaurs

My dear friends in this message I hope that you conceder me as a reporter or an eyewitness, and Please notice that I don’t love to talk about politics, because my main concern is the humanitarian issues. Since I’m a refugee in Lebanon and I’ve been here for six years, I noticed phenomena that 75% - 90% of the refugees live in the territory of Hizb Allah in Lebanon. So I’ll try to explain more about this phenomenon:

1-The important thing for the refugees is protection against being arrested, and after deported to an unknown distention, because the refuges are an illegal residents, and only Hizb Allah provides this in its area (Aldahhai Aljonobai) and in south of Lebanon. Where the Lebanese police don’t have the right to look for those people because the police need the permission  of Hizb Allah. Never did a refugee get arrested in Hizb Alahh area, and sometimes if the police arrest a refugee somewhere else and he has a relation with Hizb Alahh, he will be released out of prison with the power of Hizb Allah. Notice that UNHCR don’t provide this for the refugees when this is their job.

2-In western Beirut there is undrinkable water coming through the pipes, so the people there need to buy drinkable water, but Hizb Allah has it’s own system to provide people with drinkable water for free. Maybe you will think this isn't important; SORRY; this is very important, because some poor people, like the refugees some time they don’t have 1$ to buy any water for drinking I have seen this for myself, sometime, with my friends who lived there (I live in eastern of Beirut).

And look what is sadly funny about the UNHCR office in Beirut, the office is one Villa for only the rich people can live in, one like this (I estimate it’s price nearly $10 MILLION) it has a beautiful garden and a little garage for cars. In this garage the refugees and asylum seekers are waiting for the results of their applications and sometimes they are waiting for hours in this garage, and normally like any normal people (Not just refugees) they need to drink water or they need to use the bathroom, but there isn’t any bathroom out side the office there is inside the UNHCR office, but we don’t have the right to go inside for water.

There is a tap in the garage but notice this THEY PUT A LUCK ON IT so we don’t have any source of drinkable water or even a little water to wash our face in the hottest part of the day, in middle east. Also notice that there are children among us, and disabled people. I’m an adult man at the age of 39 years, and I find it a problem just relieving myself when I am there so long, what about a child, or a woman.

Maybe you don’t believe this but come and see with your own eyes. This is not just a subject of pride, but also a health risk when it's dealing with the mid day heat from a tropical region. And they collect million of dollars from the donors but they don’t able to provide the use with some water.

3- Hizb Allah doesn't have big budget for social organization, but they try to help as much as possible, so sometimes on a special occasion Hizb Allah arranges a feast to give food for people. And it’s good for some poor people to have good a meal every month. And do you think the UNHCR gives food for refugees when they are not capable to give water?

I love to speak more but I try to make my message as short as possible. But I want to bring it to your attention that the job of UNHCR is to help the refugees not Hizb Allah, so what do you think now about the two? you are the judge please notice that I don’t want to speak who is good, and who is bad I just spoke the truth so put yourself in this position of a refugee and try to figure what you will feel about Hizb Allah and the UNHCR.

Maybe someone of you will speak this “I don’t care” or “You are far of me ” My answer is: OK, you have the right to speak this, but I want you to look for yourself and your neighbors.

I think you will ask “What is the relationship between the refugees and my neighbors?” this is the answer: The refugee is a person who lost his country, his family and his friends he exist in a second country, and mostly illegally so he is in a bad disparate situation, a man like this urgently need to find security and help some where, so do you think that (Some where) is always good and safe? I don’t think.

Any way the time of being refugee is a critical period, in ones life and in this time and period it’s taken a long time (More than 10 years) it’s taken 6 years with me until now and in this time period, we faced different kind of issues and circumstances not all of it is good. I don’t love to talk about politics, I like to speak about people and their needs as humans, and humanitarian issues, so my friends let me continue with people, plus I would like to bring to your attention to this point: That there are 22 000 000 refugees on our globe and some of them, the luckiest have the chance to join the third country resettlement program, that means if you live in one of these countries: USA, Canada, Sweden, Finland and Norway (There are more) You will have a refugee as a neighbor on your street (If you don’t have one already).

So let me give you an example about a neighborhood, suppose that there are 2 families in your street; family A and family B.

Family A: Has good father who cares much about his children and he has a good profession, and so he can provide good food, good water, good education, and good medical plan. With this situation, those children are clever and lovely so you enjoy that they play with your children, and you will feel safe with this family.

Family B: has a bad father he doesn't care about his children he doesn't respect them he won't provide for them with good food and education so normally they will become the troublemakers in your street for being starved from well-needed attention. those children will steal things and beat your children up in the street, so you don’t want them around you, or your children, and I’m sure you will keep watching them all the time and you don’t have respect for them, because their own father has no respect them. In this situation it's a very sorry sight to see, and we all know children in this situation need help in a very important way.

Don’t you think that the same things are going like this? Anyway what about us? Please think about the refugees as children, and our father as the UNHCR. I’m sure that our father doesn’t respect us as people with feelings, so how can I expect that the others will respect us? And normally some of us will look for what they need and what our father's not going to provide somewhere else. Last year I lost 4 of my friends in the sea between Lebanon and Cyprus on an attempt to cruise the see to Europe until now I have a mournful pain for them.

My friends there are 22,000,000 refugees on the globe between myself. I conceder them as my children because I never have married, so I don’t have my own children so I have 22,000,000 children (They need to put me in Genes) and I work to help them as well as I can with my capability with one desire that I’ll be happy if I save their lives, by showing their situation to the people around the world so everywhere you are remember that there are people around you that need your help.

My dear friends, the life of the refugee is very dangerous and long, full of suffering and pain. I know some people in this situation living like this for more than 10 years, and with these years go by, look at this idea; It's more than a crisis: If we take the average of the time of being a refugee let me speak it’s 6 years so 6 x 22,000,000=132,000,000 years can you imagine what this could mean? One hundred thirty two MILLION YEARS of life of humans being not dinosaurs can you imagine the amount of suffering and pain in these long years.

When I start to look for the problems of the refugees specially after what the people of UNHCR had done with me in the past 6 years, I start to feel that I’m more happy day after day and more with every massage I write about the refugees I feel that I exist for something, to help somebody, so I have reason to continue my life, I hope I’ll find more people like me so I can share my happiness with them. I have some for the moment but I want more. My friends let us work to gather to save as many people as possible that's humanly possible, with our capabilities.
