War
of truth Wars
start with threats and they started a war and I accepted that I needed
to find a way to defend myself and to have my rights and also more, to
serve the community by helping every body to see and understand the
truth. I
decided I will fight with the Truth as my weapon, the words as my
ammunition, and the Internet as the battlefield.
I became TRUTH WARRIOR That
was my choice, war of truth on the Internet only. I'll explain now how I
continued my activity on the Internet. I used many ways on there to
contact people and to publish my words for all to read. I built a free
website with tripod.com and geocities.com but after 2 months they were
closed after a report from the UNHCR. I was ready to launch another site
by saving all my files on a floppy disc, and because I didn't have my
own PC I used public shops (Cyber Café) to access the net. After 2 days
I had rebuilt my web sites with geocites.com. One
of the best things about the Internet is the potential ability to
contact people far and wide, fast and secure. I used it to contact
people individually and in groups. Since I failed to have any satisfying
results with the people of UNHCR in Beirut, I started to look for emails
belonging to people working with the UNHCR outside Lebanon and
afterwards those who work with other organizations for refugees and also
those who fight for human rights. I did search’s for emails with yahoo
search engine for sites which have these words, UNHCR, refugee, asylum
seeker, human rights, donation. Then I started to send them messages
about my case and the situation of the refugees in Lebanon, I'll show
you some of these messages afterwards. Another
way to contact lots of people is with yahoo groups. This I found is the
best way to contact the maximum number of people with one message. The
system of the groups work like a community of many people who share a
common interest, if any member of the group send a message to the group
it will be distributed to all members of the group depending on each
member setting, also it shows in the group main site (Home page of the
group). I used this system so as to attract as many people as possible
and subscribed myself to lots of groups using many different emails
accounts, I would choose one category and started to subscribed to those
who have the biggest number of member to the last one which has 50
members. Human rights were my first category, like this I posted my
messages in thousands of yahoo groups within 10 months. It was a huge
job of work!!! There
are more reasons to use groups? Also
I thought the groups are a good place for discussion and to learn more
about life and culture in other places. For me learning is my life, and
I will continue my learning process until the end of my days. Before, in
Iraq. The regime of Saddam prevented me from continuing education in
college because of my ideas and beliefs, but in spite of all of this and
Saddam's interference of my education, I continued to learn and began to
educate myself. I taught myself English, Computer science, The Internet,
Sailing and Boat Building. This knowledge I obtained all on my own
(self-based system). I will continue learning until it becomes
impossible to learn any longer. Knowledge is impossible to stop and my
desire to learn is stronger than the strongest storm on earth. No one
can stop me from my education, and learning is for all. I have many
ideas I would love to share to the groups, and I felt this is the best
way to do that.
One of my targets was to improve the refugee’s situation in the world by improving the procedures of UNHCR, and the best way to do that is by discussing these procedures publicly and again the groups are the best place to do that. I tried to get the people of the UNHCR to have a public discussion with me one of the group’s but they refused, many of those who work in UNHCR-Beirut office told me that they don't use the Internet there. But I continued posting my message in hundreds of yahoo groups asking people around the world to help us refugees by sending messages to UNHCR and asking them about our problem. Many of my friends did that but without any answer from the UNHCR.
Those who work for the UNHCR worldwide ignored thousands
of my messages and hundreds of my friends' messages!!! I created many
groups and I subscribed many Emails accounts belonging to those who
worked for UNHCR, unfortunately, I didn't get any positive reply from
the UNHCR Just one message from Stephan Imberton Officer in Charge of
Information Systems based at the High Commission for Refugees, United
Nations, Geneva. Sent to some one who works as ISP in Lebanon to
complain about me and threaten him, that ISP is Net house <nethouse@dm.net.lb>
who forwarded that message to me. It's hard to imagine that
those who are working for UNHCR are afraid to send me a message
themselves, but they are ready to send messages to report me to official
people, services like Yahoo, Tripod and my IPS in Lebanon!!!

That was WAR OF TRUTH. In the war you risk your life, get injuries and maybe you will loose time and money, well all that happened with me because of the UNHCR. I’m happy with every thing that happened because I proved to myself that I’m a man, a human being able to fight for his rights and belief’s. I know that we can face injustice in life and influence change in bad systems like the one in the UNHCR. I have proved that we, the so called voiceless, helpless, humans (Refugees) are able to make our voice heard everywhere. I’m happy and proud I made a difference and I will continue this way for the rest of my life.
