Iraq after Saddam’s disappearance My friends, the big problem of government in Iraq (And all Arabic countries) is the holding of power by one man (exclusively), with complete absence of democracy or any respect for human rights. After decades of one-man government and years of genocide, torture and mass graves under the rule of the tyrant Saddam, the Iraqis lost any feeling of security. They don’t feel that they belong to a country called Iraq. I'm an Iraqi but I felt that I don't belong to Iraq; I always think that Iraq is the Iraq of Saddam not of the ordinary people. The Iraqis have a deep feeling of injustice anguish from the policies of Saddam's regime that have caused instability, distrust and unrest inside each Iraqi individual because of all the years of fear, suffering and pain. Iraqis were very peaceful people by their nature before the suffering they endured under Saddam’s polices. These policies depended on aggression and using extreme force, now the Iraqis are still suffering from the low self esteem remaining from those Saddam years, these feelings have given Iraqis an aggressive attitude to their problems instead of more peaceful, thoughtful action. Feelings of revenge were the first motive felt by Iraqis after Saddam’s disappearance, and loss of security is the second factor that was pushing this need for violence. What we saw in Iraq after 19th of April, looting, destroying government buildings and killing are results of these feelings. A new era will start now in Iraq now we have gotten rid of Saddam and his regime. We need to look for a new system of government in Iraq. New and different systems, nothing like went before, not only to provide democracy for the Iraqis but also for the others in Arabic homeland. We must work in Iraq as a leader and show a good example to the rest of the Arab world. With our history as Arabs in general and Iraqis especially, there is no chance for a good system of government with only one man as ruler, doesn’t matter if he is good or bad, the people will not accept that any more, so we will need new thinking and a new system, comprehensive enough to cover all the complicated circumstances in Iraq. As an Iraqi who has suffered much from Saddam's regime, I have good knowledge about my country and my people, I tried last year to figure out some kind of system for the new government needed in Iraq. I did that nearly 1 year before the USA- led war against Saddam. I posted my ideas about it on the net at many of yahoo groups and I created my own group to discuss my ideas on; September 5/2002 http://groups.yahoo.com/group/iraq_4all And I now happily and humbly represent my idea in this book with big hope that we will work together with goodwill to build Iraq with new and better thinking for good life, for the Iraqis and for the Arabs in that region. Until this day, I'm looking to see if there are any other systems with similar concepts like mine but I didn't find any!
I'm not a lawmaker like my grandfather Hammurabi but I'll try to give you general ideas with simple thinking.
